5/11-12-13/2009 2009 MEMBER-MEMBER MATCH PLAY CHAMPIONSHIP - HAMPTON HALL GOLF LINKS

For the past three days, Hampton Hall Golf Course hosted the 2009 Low
Country Women's Golf Association 2009 Member-Member Match Play Championship.
The LWGA is comprised of the best Lowcountry ladies golfers. This particular
tournament always brings out the best golfers - and this year was no
different. On Monday the field of 76 golfers started a single elimination
match play tournament. Today, the matches produced winners for the five
flights. The overall championship was a contest between Carol Hammond paired
with Louanne Gonsalves against 5 time winners Kris Berger and Sharon Son
Hing. In a tightly contested match, Gonsalves parred the 17th hole to win
the match 2 & 1. These ladies are not strangers to tough tournaments.

The first flight match was won by Joy McGavisk & Susan Brainard of Moss
Creek who defeated fellow Moss Creek Member Susan Carlson and Colleton
Member Pam Arway. The Second Flight Winners Linda Reeves and Barbara Scott,
both of Long Cove Club, defeated Joyce Wahlrab and Linda Mikkelson of Moss
Creek on the 18th hole. The Third Flight was won by Lori Delaney and
Kathleen Koerbar of Berkeley Hall who defeated Donna Pagliarulo and Ethel
Johnson of Sun City. Loretta Cutrer and Lori Lolkebeck from The Country Club
of Hilton Head prevailed over Linda Volkhardt and Mary Ellen Hannan  both of
Moss Creek to win the title in the Fourth Flight.
